The Zen Story
“What the heck is Zen?”
This is the question I didn’t think of before.
I later realized that not many people might be aware of Zen.
So let me brief it up,
In simple words:
Zen is a school of Mahayana Buddhism that originated in China, and later developed into various sub-schools and branches.
But then thing is, there are so many philosophies, so many religions…
Then why Zen?
Even I, am not traditionally a ‘Buddhist’,
neither am I formally initiated in Buddhist practices.
What is there reason despite all this I still choose Zen to talk about?
Because,
in my perspective, Zen is not just a religion but a perspective on life.
Direct Insight to Unlocking Your ‘Buddha Nature’!
A Tool so supremely powerful that adopting it, whether you believe in God or not, or any religion you belong to has nothing to do with it, and will change your life forever.
What I like about Zen is that it is simple, effective, and can be included in your life very easily.
In my opinion, I find Zen has to be one of the most effective ways of life for a person in 2024. This relatively regional and less known philosophy has to be re-awakened for the betterment of mankind.
Zen for humans of 21st century.
Zen isn’t just about sitting in meditation for hours. It's about integrating mindfulness into every action, whether it's working on a project, interacting with others, or simply enjoying a cup of tea.
Zen emphasises on making your Life Spiritual rather than making Spirituality your Life.
This is the reason why many great industry leaders such as Naval Ravikant and Steve Jobs admit adopting the practices of Zen.
Zen in a Nut-Shell
Zen is about Living. Living in Now. It's about stripping away the unnecessary and focusing on what is essential. Pure Knowledge and 0 fillers.
Though this is a really oversimplified definition, but enough for this post.
Practicing Zen will aid you not just in your spiritual journey but in all other aspects of life too.

Think of Zen as a tool to alter your perception, a way to model your mind in a way such that you gain more clarity and focus!
Why Zen Works.
Zen practices such as meditation (Zazen), mindfulness, Koans, Kinhin, and many more such tools have emphasis on direct experience over theoretical knowledge.
This framework helps in cultivating a calm and centered mind.
This state of mind is not only beneficial for spiritual growth but also enhances productivity, creativity, and decision-making in everyday life.
This is exactly the reason I practice Zen.
Because not only does it spiritually evolve me, but also makes me better at my materialistic endeavours.
Till now I might or might not have convinced you.
